David B. Gifford is a partner in the Real Estate Department of Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP and a member of the Transactional Finance Group. His practice is concentrated in real estate and related corporate and general business matters, including extensive experience with commercial, industrial, and residential real estate planning, acquisition, development, construction, leasing and operations; franchise operations and agreements; ground lease and commercial, office and retail lease transactions; partnership and corporate organization and operation; real estate syndication; dispute resolution; construction and permanent loan financing; troubled project work -outs; bankruptcy planning; zoning and subdivision; real estate taxation; and real estate and construction litigation. Mr. Gifford was previously the Chair (1994), Vice Chair (1993), Treasurer (1992), and Secretary (1991) of the Executive Committee of the Real Property Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association and Chair of the Financing of Real Estate Subcommittee 1987 -1989. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Philadelphia Bar Association. Mr. Gifford is a graduate of Temple University (B.A., magna cum laude,
1975) where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and the College of
William & Mary, Marshall-Wythe School of Law (J.D. 1979) where he
served as Editor -in -Chief of the William and Mary Law Review and was
elected to the Order of the Coif. |
